Ashlee is Mama of one darling boy. A 28 week early bird, now 1 and some change, doing beautifully. She lives near Chicago with her sweetheart husband and French Bulldog. She's a thinker not afraid to get her silly on. Babywearer, veggie queen, photography nut. Before the domestic days Ashlee was pursuing a future in developmental psychology but has happily shifted gears in favor of staying at home and couldn't imagine doing anything else. In her free time (ha!) you can find her whipping up babyslings, holding down the fort at Mama Speaks and spotlighting as an Itsy Bitsy Yoga Instructor.

My New Tattoo

My Dad's name is was Clifford. He never got around to getting a tattoo, but always talked about having David do a Clifford the Big Red Dog piece for him (Dad's favorite!). After the funeral, my husband, tattooist extraordinaire, gave my brother and I matching tattoos. I wish the circumstances were different, but I finally got David to tattoo me.

It's perfect.
Damn, I miss my Dad.

De-lurking to say I am SO sorry for your loss. And I wanted to add, coming from someone who has never been a big fan of tattoos, I have to say, that is just awesome. What a great tribute to your Dad. And your husband is quite talented, as that is probably one of the coolest tat's I've ever seen. top

Love it. The photo doesn't do it justice, it's even prettier in person.

Thanks for having us yesterday! Hopefully X isn't hammering everything in the entire house. ;) top

I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your beloved father.

I'm glad you wrote about getting tatoos in his memory. I thought we were the only ones to do that.

My youngest daughter was going to get a four leaf clover tatoo on her birthday. She never made it. Her husband, twin sisters, and brother-in-law promised her they were going to get her tatoo on her birthday. They did. It was beautiful.

A special thank you for this post. top
