Ashlee is Mama of one darling boy. A 28 week early bird, now 1 and some change, doing beautifully. She lives near Chicago with her sweetheart husband and French Bulldog. She's a thinker not afraid to get her silly on. Babywearer, veggie queen, photography nut. Before the domestic days Ashlee was pursuing a future in developmental psychology but has happily shifted gears in favor of staying at home and couldn't imagine doing anything else. In her free time (ha!) you can find her whipping up babyslings, holding down the fort at Mama Speaks and spotlighting as an Itsy Bitsy Yoga Instructor.

Wow, I just realized it's been 10 days since I've posted- I began this blog with ambitious thoughts of blogging each day (sure!) and while my head has been swirling with thoughts I just haven't been able to find a quiet moment to set them free. I only have a second now but wanted to say hello. Life is great, busy as usually. Xavier and I had a laughing contest the other day! For several minutes straight we just stared at each other and laughed, ok so I was a sobbing, laughing mess by the end of it all, but it was the most amazing thing ever! To see him connecting and understanding so much more blows my mind and warms my heart like nothing ever has.

David recently took an apprenticeship at a friends Tattoo shop, while it's hard having him out of the house 5 days a week for the first time in a year, it is amazing to see him learning so much and immersed in his art again (his first love! :p). We were going to go on a casting call to try out for The Amazing Race tomorrow, we were so excited- the thought of travel, experience, the chance to pay off Xav's medical bills! but found out it that if chosen it requires being away for our baby boy for almost 2 months rather than the couple of weeks we'd anticipated. No way... maybe next year!

So that's my world as it stands at this moment, nothing too exciting-the X man is out cold in his sling, my hubby's resting on the sofa, and I'm off to join him ... goodnight! (Xavier weighed in at 16lbs 3oz yesterday and is 24 inches long!)
